Lauren Semmer
Lauren Semmer is a bestselling children’s book illustrator who grew up in a community of Black, home-textile artists. When she isn't making picture books, like The ABC’s of Black History, written by Rio Cortez, and To Boldly Go: How Nichelle Nichols and Star Trek Helped Advance Civil Rights, written by Angela Dalton, she collects fabric scraps and dreams of having her own fabric line. Like Poppy, she's not afraid to wear ALL the patterns at the same time. This is her authorial debut.
